Walter Tiberius Havershaw's an amazing bad guy. Not only does he have an evil British accent, he's going to do a lot of cool stuff in the fortcoming game, and the one after that.

HOWEVER... would he be as scary if he'd been drawn by a modern anime studio in Japan? The image speaks for itself.
Modern anime is, again, utter, utter shit. Sorry, but it really does look like crap. I had a Paradise Kiss screenshot open beside me as I "drew" (spewed onto the screen) this, and made sure I got just as much (little) shading as there was on that Paradise Kiss image.

And here's the result. If I was forced to draw this badly, I would cut my own guts open and die there and then, I swear.

I kinda agree with what you are saying because in my opinion older anime from the 80s and 90s did have more effort into it and it did have wonderful shading and i love how they drew eyes. however i seen lots of modern anime with art just as good or at least good enough,but i hate that plain look in anime such as paradise kiss honestly it looks terrible in both the anime and manga,and so far i havent seen a 2013 anime with art that appealed to me.

The reason why I heavily lost interest in anime.

Boys are kissin' each other and stuff, everything sparkles and rainbows, female characters that are adults look like children, the plotlines are redundant. Isn't it so kawaii?

I agree. Modern anime (for the most part at least) is just g.a.r.b.a.g.e. looking. It's so bad I actually don't use the word "anime" anymore when talking about shows like Hokuto No Ken.

All this proves is that you can draw a bad picture in 18 minutes.

I think the point was that he could mimic the style with relative ease in 18 minutes. I see where you're coming from, though.

Sometimes, while thinking about how cool Digimon is, I'll draw the children and realize how damn lazy they were doodling those youngsters.

Right, but that's what I don't get. If that was the point then he missed it.
The one he did in 18 minutes looks like hell. Not because of the style but because he drew it poorly.
It shows that it takes more than 18 minutes to make a drawing in that style work.
