OLD OLD WORK!

Around 2001, I and most of my house got addicted to oekaki. I was posting like a picture a night... it was taking up all my time (because unlike most artists, I actually take 6 hours to draw just a quick doodle. I can't sketch to save my life), so I had to stop it.

Here's some of the old shit from my youth. You can certainly see that I drew necks WAY too long, and also that I used to gel my hair all the way back like a 1920s gangster. And some of the Japanese is wrong 'cos I was learning at uni at the time!

I still like the world domination cats though!

There's also an in-joke in there which goes thus:
The film PREDATOR. One of the greatest films of all time. But my friend Ben, as a child thought the woman in it was saying "the demon who makes trophis of man" ('cos of her accent). For many years he wondered what the hell a trophis was. So now we all say trophis instead of trophies.

And that's where the name of our ill-fated games company, Studio Trophis, came from.

The final pic (bottom right) is the last one I ever did. It was just after I was taken (by an ambulance) to hospital because I had terrible stomach pain and the doc thought my appendix was going to burst and kill me at any moment (!) ... so people were wondering where the hell I was. Turned out there was nothing wrong with me (apparently they get a few people in each year with stomach pain so bad they can't move, and then they're fine the next day) , I was let out of hospital the next morning, and I drew this piece to show that I still lived.
AND I STILL DO!

Your 2001-02 stuff is leagues above my 2001-02 stuff. (And I'd say it was the bloodied green-haired fellow that tipped me off that you're the artist for "the white chamber".)

Wow, it's a cornucopia of bright and colorful stuff! I see Jesse Ventura, Half-naked sith girl, Onion guy with a guitar and.....MEGATRON!!! YAY!!!!

So, what is "oekaki" anyway?
